kinda dizzy

June 10th, 2009

i guess that means i need to eat. i am so tired right now. it probably means that after training a client, teaching kickboxing, and taking ZUMBA class with Beto that I am fatigued. I soaked in the jacuzzi and snuck in a nap.

um…yeah, i gotta go make a turkey wrap and get it together. what are you doing to get it together?

off….

June 8th, 2009

um…so yeah…training last week had to take a backseat. due to some technical difficulties.  as a word of warning, do not overtrain, esp. when you are over motivated for reaching some goal like myself! :)

i hurt my shoulder, not anything major, just feeling some minor twings and whatnot. i ended up going through the motions during camps and classes.  i strictly did legs and some light cardio but nothing serious.  just checking in now and the shoulder feels much better.  i did some light reps this am and felt almost at 95%. i refuse to say 100% and that could be due to my stubborness, but whatever. :)

going to do some cardio today and enjoy the rest of my day. what r u up to?

Z-U-M-B-A

May 31st, 2009

omg folks….when i tell you i am in l-o-v-e, i am in love!  with Zumba, that is…..

if you haven’t tried it, or are looking for a fun and new way to work out without feeling like you are working out, then this is your card!  I really can’t believe how much fun it really is.  I finally bit the bullet and got certified yesterday and it was worth EVERY penny!  i have been going to Beto (the creator) every Wednesday at Equinox to take his class. i figured if i wanted to get the experience, I might as well get it from the man himself!  if you ever get the chance, TRUST ME….

anyways, just wanted to keep you informed, as I will be teaching this class soon enough and cannot wait to add it to my arsenal.  if you want to see for yourself, google ZUMBA and see what all the fuss is about! :)

cookie dough truffles

May 23rd, 2009

so, we all know how i practice what i preach, for the most part. what you do NOT know is that i have a tremendous sweet tooth and will probably pay for this for the rest of my life.  what you also may NOT know is that i will put in serious overtime to compensate for said sweet tooth.

which you are probably realizing at this moment is that a. i am very human, b. common sense prevails, and c. this will be a very ACTIVE weekend for working out b/c i made cookie dough truffles and they are to die for….maybe not die for, but definetely worth working harder for……

just thought u should know…..i can give you the recipe if you want….:)

hum…what do u know

May 20th, 2009

i know i preach it everyday with my clients and boot camp participants, but i don’t always practice it.  what is that?  clean eating…..

it really can be done in moderation and you can still enjoy your life.  i have had a harder time since having Kailey, only because I don’t really try to!  but….what do you know, the minute I start actively practicing this principle, the weight is easily falling off.

now, don’t get me wrong, it has only been 2 weeks. but consistent cardio sessions, weight lifting, AND cleaner (notice i didn’t say c-l-e-a-n) eating has already helped me move some weight off.  it is only 3-4 pounds, but it hasn’t hurt one bit!

imagine what could happen in your own life if you sincerely tried. that is just my food for thought for today.

not very fun….

May 14th, 2009

so of course i sent out a bat signal for more classes to teach. i just really want to get everything in order by trying out new techniques, moves, etc b4 the big move. which is why i wanted to get in front of as many peeps as possible.

training private clients is gr8, but teaching 7 classes in a 3 day period while doing p90x….not so much…..

just thought i would put that out there.  ;OP

easier and easier….

May 11th, 2009

hey everyone,

i just wanted to check in and let u know my status. it has become easier and easier to commit to my additional exercise when i bust it out BEFORE my house gets up and moving.  funny thing is, i always KNEW that and told my clients that, but it was hard to practice.

i had TWO no-shows this morning and it was not a gr8 way to start the day, esp. since they were 6 am slots.  BUT that just gave me the incentive to start and finish my own workouts.  did my 30 min of cardio intervals and p90X’s legs/back workout.  already taken my supplements and off to make my recovery shake.

that wasn’t too bad. the worst part is i want to do something else. looks like a ZUMBA workout is in store for me later!  i hope Ali is there, b/c if she isn’t, i will be pretty cranky @ it! lol

what r u doing to make your committment to fitness easier and easier?!?!?

damn….

May 4th, 2009

has it been that long???

I hate to even show my face around here, considering I have been holding back on you guys! LOL…..

anyways, life is moving so quickly and I can barely keep up. I know you all know how that can be sometimes, but I am here to tell you three key words….NEVER GIVE UP!

We had family come down to visit this weekend and that is always fun, but it is back to the plan at hand.  I need to keep my eyes on the prize of training and shredding up for my plan of attack on competing for a fitness competition.  I am also leaning towards running a few races in the fall, so that cardio plan of attack will need to be modified. looks like i will be hitting the treadmill a few extra times per week.

happy to report that the sleeping pattern has taking a better turn and i am averaging 7.45 or more hours a night, weekends included. the supplementation plan has also stepped up and i am getting very consistent on that also.  i only took one day off last week, but lifting for probably 5 DAYS STRAIGHT.  :O

not good, which was why my shoulder was ‘pinging’ last week. i will go back to the drawing board to revise that but all in all, things are going pretty well.

to close out…i have been floating around and keep hearing a consistent chime. please give yourself credit for what you ARE doing and get rid of the negative self talk. it will do NOTHING but bring you down.

take care and LET’S GET IT!

sore….

April 16th, 2009

yes, know i really understand what my clients talk about when they tell me that.  i went to a ZUMBA class yesterday and was pleasantly surprised about how awesome my workout was, courtesy of Beto and his kick-as** class.

He reminded me of why i love to teach/train others. simply for the love of working out and encouraging others.  he didn’t say 3 sentences for the entire class but he had me intrigued, motivated and willing.  i just wish that i could have taken his class months ago, as I will be leaving soon and will know, for a fact, what i will be missing when we move!  ;(

but back to the topic at hand.  if you have quality workouts consistently, you will continue to be sore. that is a good thing. it means that you are continually working muscles, whether it be intrinsically or in a new way.  regardless of the reason, it should show you that your workouts are challenging your muscles, which is the way it SHOULD be.

if you can not stop and remember the last time your workouts made you sore, you just might need to figure out what you can do to switch it up and get some effective use of your workouts. it is NO point in working out if it isn’t doing anything for you. work smarter, NOT harder!

uh oh….

April 15th, 2009

so, i have decided to jazz things up a bit.  i am trying to clean ‘house’ with my exercising to fully commit to one specific course of action, as I would like to lose 9 pounds. yes, i said it. 9 pounds.  sure, those of you that see me on a regular basis think that there is NOTHING wrong with me.

first of all, thanks. but with that being said, i would like to shoot for this goal because i am going to register for a fitness competition and need to get lean.  with that program of leaness, i need to shed some weight, plain and simple.

to do that, i need to really get on top of my eating and exercise program. i am able to teach and train others but i really need to slow down and focus on myself.  Sure, by no means am i overweight, but for the condition that i would like to be in, i have some work to do.  by making this public knowlegde, i am opening myself up and getting some accountability going.

so, with this journey comes some hard work. but i will keep at it, b/c i already KNOW that YOU will be watching…….and waiting…….

so, let’s get it!
